Fall Adventures in Diving.....
Kids may be back in school, but as divers in the North East know, the water is warmer now than it is in June, so we still have lots of diving opportunities this Fall for all to enjoy from PADI Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver and Divemaster programs all scheduled. We also have a range of Specialty courses including Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, Night Diver, Nitrox, Underwater Naturalist, Equipment Specialist, Emergency First Response, Oxygen First Aid. Thinking of "Going Pro" we have Divemaster and Assistant Instructor scheduled as well as EFR Instructor, so there is something out there for divers of all levels, including those that want to learn to dive or continue the adventure!
Our Master Scuba Diver Challenge is well underway with 3 divers meeting the highest standards thus far. The Master Scuba Diver rating is known as the "black belt" of scuba diving and is viewed as the highest level of recreational diving. Master Scuba Divers represent the elite 2% of divers having completed at least 50 dives, Adventure Diver, Rescue Diver and 5 PADI specialty diver courses. Those that complete the Master Scuba Diver program with us earn eligibility for a spot on the Hamden Scuba Hall of Fame.
The Master Scuba Diver challenge is a lot of fun, hard work but leads to a great sense of achievement. We have a great deal to help you get there in 2014 with our Master Scuba Diver Prep Program. The Prep Program is an integrated approach to Master Scuba Diver that optimizes the dive order and specialty order to ensure that you get the most out of your training experience. Although the program content is set, we create a training plan tailored to each diver to take into consideration your individual objectives and constraints.
In keeping with previous years, 2014 has a Specialty of the Year course which is EAN Nitrox. This course is both scheduled throughout the year as well as run on demand. Be prepared for your next dive adventure and get your EAN Diver card so that Nitrox is an option for you when you want to use it.

We are running our third PADI Divemaster Program in August 2014 and we are really looking forward to it - the Divemaster program is always a lot of fun. Take the first step in your dive career and become a PADI Divemaster. Working closely with a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. Do you want to continue your adventure? If so contact us at email@example.com.
Divemaster candidates have logged 40 dives at the beginning of the course, are Rescue certified and 18 years old. Not finished your Rescue yet? Let us know and we will work with you to schedule this course as well. Contact us for additional details as well as to receive your pre course assignments and Divemaster crew pack. We will also be running our EFR Instructor program in conjunction with our Divemaster program.
Already a Divemaster (PADI or other)? We also have limited space in our Assistant Instructor program taking place in August and September.

These are skills that everyone should have and are required skills for some, such as Lifeguards and even for our own candidates that wish to take Rescue Diver training. Hamden Scuba offers Emergency First Response (EFR) courses that cover CPR, the use of AED's, First Aid and Care for Children. These courses are not just for divers - they are available to enroll in if you wish to gain the skills and knowledge needed in an emergency or if you wish to for instance become a lifeguard this summer or if you need to satisfy requirements for many of the BSA ratings including those for SCUBA ratings. Click on the Emergency First Response link on the left for more information.
We are now also offering EFR Instructor Training. This is a requirement for PADI Open Water Instructors, but is open to all that are interested in teaching first aid professionally, as a hobby or as an asset to your community. Crossover programs are available to those with instructor level certification from other CPR/First Aid certifying agencies.
